Gilbert L. Harper

He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ and a US Navy Veteran. He was a 50 year member of Lessing Masonic Lodge #464 and life member of VFW Post #1114. He was an avid sports fan, and especially fond of the Colts and Cubs. He enjoyed working with stained glass, making lamps for family and friends.

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eunice R. Harper; son, Donald Harper and wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Heather Harper; daughter, Judy D. Gilliland and her husband, Buzz, and their children, Sean Gilliland and his wife, Jessica, Jennifer Gay and her husband, Evan, and Stephen Gilliland; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Beckett Gilliland and Luke Gay; nieces, Phyllis and Dick Luttrull and Kathy and Jeff Berry; several nephews; and close friend, Maxine Simpson.

The family wishes to thank Parkview Care Center, Deaconess Hospice and Dr. Douglas Hatler for their care.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at St. Peters United Church of Christ, 7014 Darmstadt Road, officiated by Rev. Brian Buschkill, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
