Gilbert Lovell, 86, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1935 in Evansville to the late George and Lillian Lovell.
Gilbert was a graduate of Central High School and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Arcadia. He retired from Whirlpool Corp after 35 years and was employed by Berger & Berger Attorneys for many years as an investigator. After retirement, he worked part time for Matrix Corp and Cambridge Golf Course.
Gilbert is survived by his wife Barbara (Lansden). They were married December 17, 1954 at Oak Hill Presbyterian (now Oak Hill Bible Fellowship) where they were lifelong members.
Gilbert is also survived by his daughters, Becky Laine (Jeff) of Evansville, Patty Alvey (Bob) of Loganville, GA; grandsons, Chris Laine (Anne) and Jake Alvey; granddaughters, Courtney Mills (Brent Worsdorfer) and Kendall Parker(David); and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Daniel Lovell (Dianna) and preceded in death by his sister Sue McAlister.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Eric Rawdon, with a burial to follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel.
