Glenda Joyce Burns

Glenda Joyce Burns, 73, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 from complications of Leukemia. Glenda was born in Seattle, Washington on November 11, 1942, to the late Glen and Olive (Reynolds) McCoy.

Glenda was an active member of the Community of Christ Church and their Women’s Group. She enjoyed attending the church’s district events at Glenwood Hills Church Campground. Glenda enjoyed bowling, reading, spending time with friends, especially when they went to dinner. She graduated from Grand Coulee High School in1961 and worked many years in retail, while being a devoted mother of three.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rick and Doug McCoy.

Glenda is survived by her sons, David (Sue), Don (Hiromi) and Darrin Burns (Kristen); grandchildren, Ben Filipkowski, Christie Bader, Shoel, Lyon, Emma, Aiden and Abigale Burns; great grandchildren, David and Rebekah Bader; sister, Marilyn Dike; brothers Ron and Allen McCoy; former husband, Robert Burns; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Community of Christ Church, 1005 Hercules Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711.
