Glenda graduated from North High School in 1960, and shortly after graduating, she worked for several years at Welborn Hospital, Whirlpool, and Color Craft, where she made lifetime friends. After leaving Color Craft, she decided to start her own business by opening her in-home Daycare called Sugar Babies. Some of her first children were her grandchildren.
She devoted her life to her late husband, Isaac Winfield, Sr., her children and especially her grandchildren who she loved spending time with. While her daughter, Stephanie was attending grade school, Glenda was an active Brownie leader, girl scout leader, room- mom, and PTA member. She had a passion for sewing. One of her greatest joys was when she and her husband took their grandchildren to Disney in Florida. While traveling, she enjoyed stopping to tour antique homes. Glenda loved to collect antique furniture and other collectables.
Glenda had an unlimited passion for design. Her passion was evident when she was offered a scholarship in design during high school. Although she rejected the offer, Glenda continued to share her gift of design with many people. She often volunteered to draw for school carnivals, church events, and other community events. She shared her talent of floral arrangement design, furniture upholstery and decorations with Progressive Holy Temple where she was a member for over 25 years and served as the Decoration Chair of the Pastoral and church anniversaries. One of Glenda’s ultimate past times was watching scary movies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie Nelson; sister, Beverly
Epman; and husband, Isaac Winfield, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Stephanie (Dwayne) Goebel; stepson, Isaac (Ena) Winfield, step-daughters, Martha Lisa Mansfield, Debra Winfield, and Linda Winfield; cousins, Patsy Theising of McDaniel, KY and Sherri McGhee of Evansville; granddaughters, Megan (Justin) Wilford, Cortney Falkenstein, Monique Peirce, Ebony (Derrick) Lee, Erica (Eli) Palacios, Erin Johnson, Ellana Winfield, Cassi Winfield, Jasmyne Winfield; grandsons, Stephen (Tyra) Winfield, Isaac Winfield, III, and Isaiah Winfield. A host of great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
