

Lincoln, NE on December 10, 1927, to Joseph H. and Helen (Krause) Claybaugh.
He graduated from Northeast High School in Lincoln, NE. Glenn received a B.Sc. from the University of Nebraska, a M.Sc. from Michigan State, and a PH.D. from Iowa State University in Dairy Microbiology. He was a member of FarmHouse fraternity. He moved to Evansville in 1953 for a position at Mead Johnson and retired as Director of Professional Services after a 40-year career. He spent many years designing new neonatal units and developing pediatric and neonatal seminars. Gov. Otis Bowen named him a Sagamore of the Wabash.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving at the 248th General Hospital at Clark Field in the
Philippines as a medical supply officer. Glenn was on Honor Flight with his grandson, Joe, in October 2017. Glenn was a long-standing member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a Lay Leader, taught Sunday school, and served on several committees.
He was a 62-year-member of the Westside Kiwanis Club, now the Kiwanis Club of
Evansville. He was president in 1966-67 and elected Governor of the Indiana District in 1976-77. He was instrumental in starting the Riley Hospital Walk-a-thon for the Kiwanis Southwind district. The walk has netted Riley over $600,000 in 33 years.
Glenn loved to travel with his wife, Mary Lou, family, and friends. He visited every
state in the US. He traveled throughout Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, China, and North Africa.
Glenn was preceded in death of his wife of 68 years Mary Lou (Graham) Claybaugh,
his parents, brother Joseph, and sister Helen Mutz. His daughter-in-law Patricia (Luker)
Claybaugh also preceded him.
He is survived by his children Lloyd Claybaugh and Cindy Weil (Kevin). He has three grandchildren, Joe Weil (Emily), Jim Weil (Sarah), and Jennifer Claybaugh. He has four great grandchildren, Graham, Luke, Ian, and Nathan Weil.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr. Todd Gile, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Trinity UMC on Saturday.
