

He served in the Navy during WWII and retired from Federal Produce Company after 35 years and Harp’s in 1988. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ on Market Street, where he had served on the Church Council and was past President. He taught the Lincoln Bible Class and sang in the Choir for over 60 years. He enjoyed woodworking and made many heirlooms for his family. He was a member of Reed Masonic Lodge #316, Scottish Rite and Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Clara J. (Beyer) Walker; and sister, Mildred Myers.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Alexander) Walker; son, Stephen (Sally) Walker of Erlanger, KY; daughters, Karen (Bill) Wimpelberg of Owensboro, KY, Linda (David) Olliver of Evansville and Julie (Doug) Hungate of Louisville, KY; brothers, Charles Walker of Newburgh and James (Jenny) Walker of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Walker Bongiorno, Matthew (Nikki) Wimpelberg, Lisa Wimpelberg, Lindsey Olliver, Scott Olliver, Abby Hungate and Ally Hungate; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. John Branam, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
