He was the owner of Peoples Pest Control from 1984 to 2003. His favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, and coaching. He enjoyed coaching children’s youth basketball and baseball.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joanne; parents, Velmont and Flo Claridge; sister, Rosemary Stephens.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. Becker (Rick) of Evansville; sons, SGT. Christopher J. Claridge, Robert J. Claridge, both of Evansville; twin grandsons, Tyler and Devon Claridge; brother, Velmont Claridge Jr. (Bonnie) of Elberfeld; sister, Velma Laib of Evansville; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. John Hilbert, with burial in Bethlehem UCC Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, April 25, at the funeral home.
