He attended St. Joseph Preparatory School in Bardstown, Kentucky. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation and owned many businesses, Evansville Men’s Club, Club Piranha, Nip-a-Bit Liquors, and J&T Furniture. James was a member of Eagles and Christ the King Parish. James was an avid golfer.
James was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, Jon, and Tim Gray.
He is survived by his significant other of 36 years, Pam Miller; daughters, Julie Gray Zenthofer (Scott) and Kimberly Gray Kelly (Bob Weber), grandchildren, Wesley Sanford, Samantha Taylor, Stevie Kelly, Karlie Kelly, Jodie Kelly, Cole Zenthofer, and Kaitlyn Zenthofer; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Annunciation Parish - Christ the King Campus with Fr. Benny Chacko officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
