Born October 11, 1941, in Indiana, James was the son of Wyman and Inez Spayd Holder. He worked as a toxicologist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency for over 32 years. On August 13, 1985, in Haymarket, VA, he married the former Laurraine Wivel, who survives.
Surviving besides his wife of 27 years is his son, Jason and his wife, Iva, of Boston, MA; one brother, Thomas Holder of Florida; one sister, Debra Carriere and her husband, Neil, of Puyallup, WA; and one grandson, Ian Holder.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN.
