James "Jim" E. Gore

James “Jim” E. Gore, 90, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Deaconess Hospice. He was born July 3, 1924, in Evansville, Indiana.
Jim proudly served as a Sergeant in the US Army during WWII and received both an American and Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was a radio operator, known as Speed Key, working with Morse code in the China Offensive.
He retired from Whirlpool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Myrtle Gore; sister, Geraldine Snyder; and brother, Joe Gore.
Jim is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita P. (Tarrants) Gore; daughters, Deborah Riggs of Evansville and Catherine Raider (Ken) of San Antonio, FL; grandson, Ryan Riggs; granddaughter, Sarah Kimble; and great grandchildren, Hannah Riggs, Kara Kimble, and Jenna Kimble; sister, Betty Freeman; and nieces and nephews. He also left behind his beloved dog, Baby Lil.
Services were held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive. Friends visited Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the cemetery.
