James "Jim" F. Jones

James “Jim” F. Jones, 78, of Evansville passed away Wednesday March 22, 2023. He was born March 21, 1945 in Evansville to the late Edgar and Wilma (Friedle) Jones. He served in the US Air Force. Jim was a general manager for Pizza Hut for 20 years and then owned Service Delivery from 1990 until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s German Township Church and was also involved with Kiwanis and Compassionate Friends through which he was a driving force in the creation of the Angel monument at the 4H Center. Jim enjoyed playing cards, fishing, working on projects with his grandchildren, and driving his Corvette convertible. He was a past Master of Masonic Lodge #64 and a member of the Hadi Shrine, including the Hadi Car Club which he was one of the original forming members. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, son; Carl Jones; and sister, Marge Chappell. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaVern (Steurer) Jones; sons, Ken A. Jones (Jennie) and James D. Jones (Kim); grandchildren, Garrett, Luke, Kyle, Zoey, Clay, Julie, and Kaylynn; and brother, Roy Jones. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 27, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Terry Farmer. Friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday March 26, 2023, where there will be a Hadi Shrine walkthrough at 4:45 p.m. and a Masonic service at 5:00 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
