James Irvin Splittorff

James first worked in farming and then drove a semi-truck for 40 years for various companies. He loved fishing, gardening, and animals, including his dog, Kittle James. James attended the Poseyville Christian Church. He most loved being around his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Elizabeth Splittorff; wife of 60 years, June Splittorff; brothers, Johnny and Frank Splittorff; and daughter, Clara (McNear) Coon.

James is survived by his brothers, Donald Splittorff (Lou) and Bobby Splittorf; sister, Louis Bell; son, Chuck Hunter (Donna); grandkids, Matthew Coon (Brandy), Jason Coon (Alberta), Arthur Coon (Isela) and Rhonda Perez; and many grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Dennis King followed by burial in Saulmon Cemetery in Poseyville, IN. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. through service time at the funeral home.
