

Jeannie grew up in Evansville and graduated from Harrison High School in 1970. She managed the family business at The Red Sled for several years and later worked in purchasing at Casino Aztar before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Jeannie had a passion for genealogy, folk art painting, and creating beautiful wall hangings through sewing and cross-stitching. She was a loving and supportive mother who always put her family first, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren. Jeannie had a deep love for her pets, nature, and reconnecting with old classmates over lunch gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Spindler and her husband, Jason; son, Will E. Givens and his fiancée, Brittany Martin; grandchildren, Ethan Spindler, Brandon Givens, Skylar Givens, Olivia Givens, and Gabby Givens; siblings, Randy (Marilyn) Todd and Susan (Steve) Sims; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Edward Givens; and her brother, David Todd.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, Evansville. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 6:00 pm officiated by Pastor Bill Altman.
Per Jeannie's wishes she will be cremated and her final resting place will be next to her beloved husband at Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville, IN, on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
