

J. David Johnson, 79, of Evansville, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at The Charlier Hospice Center at Deaconess VNA Plus. He was born December 19, 1936, in Princeton, to the late J. Edward and Naomi (Reeser) Johnson.
He attended the Culver Military Academy, was a US Army Veteran, and graduated from the University of Evansville. He retired from Kraft General Foods after 22 years of service, working in Evansville and in Danbury, CT. After retirement he lived in Seminole and Largo, FL, returning to Evansville in 2004. During his retirement, David played a lot of golf, enjoyed fishing and landscaping, and supporting the Evansville Aces basketball team. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, where he was a 32 Degree Mason, Eastside Christian Church, and Indiana Greyhound Rescue.
David was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Foster) Johnson; sons, Jeff (Carol) and Scott (Cindy Lory) Johnson; step-sons, Doug (MaryAnne) and Mark (Lisa) Foster; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Dr. Linda Parker, with burial in Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
