John Courtland Ranson, 89, of Evansville, went to his heavenly home Friday, January 11, 2013, at 6:00 PM at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born August 6, 1923, in Delaware, Kentucky to Edgar and Eunice Ranson who preceded him in death along with brothers, Harold, Harford, and Robert.
He attended First Christian Church for 68 years. He was a long time member of Masonic Lessing Lodge and an avid outdoorsman.
John is survived by his wife, Elsie of 67 years; sister, Elva; daughters, Donna (Dan) England, Becky (George) Wolfe, Randa “Susie” (Manuel Alvarado); grandchildren, Lauri Shepard, Amanda Ortiz, John Buchanan, and Anissa Fletcher; great grandchildren, Anissa Marie, Bailey, Kaleigh, Carlos David, Kortland, Khylar, Josie, Luke, Khylan, and Nathanael.
Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 12-Noon until service time at the funeral home.
