

Judy was born on January 12, 1945 in Evansville, IN. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Dorothy Groves.
Judy was a devoted wife to her husband, Clyde Avis for thirty-eight years. The two were inseparable, he was her faithful, attentive and devoted caregiver until the end.
Judy was a collector of all things and a fierce shopper. She was a fashionista. Judy loved clothes, shoes and purses. You always saw her dressed to the nines, full of bling. She enjoyed the glitter and glam!
Judy never missed an opportunity to make a Goodwill stop, looking for that one rare find. It was her favorite store.
She owned many rare, vintage cars. Judy and her husband traveled the country to car shows and rod runs. Driving Route 66 was their passion for many years.
Judy loved to travel, with Daytona Beach being her favorite destination.
Judy shared a unique and special relationship with her daughter, Laura LeAnna. She lived vigorously through her daughter’s eyes.
Judy was a talker. Her absolute favorite pastime was talking on the phone. She would spend countless hours chatting with her family and friends- if there were only a phone in heaven.
Judy is unforgettable. If you ever met her, she surely knows your whole life story. Judy never missed a moment.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, mother and by her brother, Donnie Groves.
Judy is survived by her adoring husband and soulmate, Clyde Avis of Boonville. Judy also leaves behind her only daughter, Laura LeAnna Wing and her favorite son-in-law, Mickey Wing.
Grandchildren, Damon Wing (Alex), Weston Wing (Del), Shawn Wing (Brittany), Melissa Wing (John) and Dillion Wing (Samantha). Her Grand-dog, Mira May Wing.
Eleven great grandchildren, Payson, Jagger, Lennon LeeAnna, Rhyland, Raven, Atlas, Leo, Milo, Sunni, Braylon, and Adalyn. Step-daughters, Michelle Beck and Cindy Bustamante.
Her special niece, Donna Ann Groves. And a lifetime best friend, Brenda Ferguson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Kris Brown. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
