

June Falls Barnes, 97, died peacefully, surrounded by her family in Sebring, FL on July 4, 2018. A resident of Evansville since 1959, she moved to Sebring in 2014 to be near family. June was born in Oakland City, IN on October 29, 1920.
June was an active member of The Methodist Temple since 1959, serving first as a Third Grade Sunday School Teacher and then on various church committees and boards. She was employed by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for 23 years as a Kindergarten Assistant; a position she found to be life-giving. As matriarch of her family, she modeled a Christian life of service to others. Her family knows her as “Mom,” “Aunt June,” and “Grandma June,” remembering her as “the most faithful and courageous person we have ever known.”
June was proceeded in death by her husband, Norman P. Barnes in 1961. Others who passed before her include her siblings: Robert P. Falls, Evansville, IN; Denzil W. Falls, Leesburg, FL, and Mary Louise Kinsman, Oakland City, IN; and parents: Elmer and Flossie Falls, Beaver Dam, KY.
Surviving are her daughters: Connie Evers, Avon Park, FL; Marty Preiss (Rick), Lake Forest, IL; and Libby Steinman (Jeff), Vero Beach, FL.
Grandchildren: Cindy Cobb (Mike), Avon Park, FL; Carrie Eubanks (Kevin), Cranberry Township, PA; Gretchen Lowe, Titusville, FL; Artie Preiss (Megan), Chicago, IL; and Philip Preiss, Chicago, IL.
Great-Grandchildren: Dana Cobb, Mandy Thompson (Donnie), Mason Cobb (Kayley), Andrew Eubanks, Tyler Eubanks, and Addison Lowe.
Great-Great-Grandchildren: Krew Cobb, Kye Cobb, and Kanon Cobb. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at The Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Avenue, with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
