

Born in Minneapolis, MN in 1917, he had been an Evansville resident since 1939, when he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was an engineer at Servel, George Koch Sons, and then at Whirlpool where he retired in 1978 after 21 years of service. He was formerly a State of Indiana Registered Engineer, and a member of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Society, Purdue Graduate Club and the Whirlpool Management Club. In 1977, he received a Technical Achievement Award from the TriState Council of Engineering and Science. He married the former Hazel Huff Grismore in 1963, and together they enjoyed golf, travel, dancing, and duplicate bridge. Kenneth was a member of East Side Christian Church, Evansville Coterie, Friday Night Dance Club, Eagles, and Evansville Outing Club.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Werling; father, Edward; mother, Emily; step-father, Leo M. Litz; and step-son Gerald Grismore.
He is survived by his wife Hazel; son, Walter (Shirley) Werling of Louisville, KY; and daughter, Anita Werling of Delphi, IN, both from his first marriage to Carolyn Pascoe; along with eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his step-sons, Michael (Janice) Grismore of Newburgh, IN and Steven (Donna) Grismore of Evansville, IN; step-daughter-in-law, Pat Grismore of SC; eight step-grandchildren: and 14 step- great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family.
