Larry graduated from East High School in Jackson, TN. He served in the U.S. Army and then the Army National Guard. He had been a machine operator for J. Trockman and Sons and then a truck driver for Tri-State Resource Center. He was an active member and Deacon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served for many years and he was a member of the Mighty Men of Zion Choir.
He had an incredible personality with a great sense of humor, he loved to smile and was a prayer warrior for his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ginnie Willie Tomlinson; brothers, William Tomlinson and Kenneth Tomlinson; and sister Nettie Florence Boone.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Sheila (Alexander) Tomlinson; daughter, Terri Tomlinson, Indianapolis, IN; son, Larry Tomlinson Jr. Evansville, IN; mother, Mattie (Cathey) Hamlett, Jackson, TN; brothers, James Willie Tomlinson, Evansville, IN and Terry Bernard Cathey, Jackson, TN; grandchildren, LaKeisha Roach and Ke’Ara Tomlinson; great-grandchildren, Mar’Quis Smith, Kamri Stephens and Derick Brocks III; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 S. Governor St, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. R.V. Terry with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m., until service time on Saturday at the church.
