

Leonard was a Navy Veteran from WWII. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and a life member of VFW 1114. Leonard enjoyed woodcarving and was a member of the National Woodcarvers Association and Mid-American Woodcarvers in Omaha, NE. He attended Woodcarving classes at Doane College in Crete NE. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, St. Louis Cardinals and IU Basketball.
Leonard retired on January 1, 1990 from Alcoa in the Pack-Ship Department after 25 ½ years.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ellen K Gentry; brothers, Carl, Clarence, Lester, Claude and Leo Gentry; sisters, Lucille Reisinger, Juanita Graham, and Margie Coon.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sena Gentry; daughters, Alma Harp (Ron), Arita Judd (Leonard), Karen Chochola-Jones (Tom), Eva Majors (James), Karalyn Flake (Sidney); son, Michael Gentry (Amy); 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Hofmann (Charles) all of Evansville, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 24, 2010 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Maurice Melton with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, Indiana.
