

After graduating from Millersburg High School and Lockyear Business College she left Indiana in 1941 to work for the United States Army Security Center in Washington, DC at the Pentagon. She retired in 1980 after 39 years of service. She was a volunteer at Arlington Hospital Outpatient Services, active in St. Thomas Moore Catholic Women’s Council and was the Program Director of the Thomas Jefferson Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed her family, traveling, and her cat Prince. She was also a devout Catholic.
Leota was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilson, in 1982; parents, Kenneth and Selma; brothers, Wilbur and William “Bill”; and sister, Mary Janette Taylor.
She is survived by her sister, Wanda Johnston of Spring Hill, FL; brother, Isaac Eugene (Delores) of Evansville; sisters-in-law, Daisy and Anne, both of Chandler; numerous nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Brenda Johnston Brown, who was her caregiver.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Catholic Charities.
