

He grew up in Tekoppel and was the youngest of eight children. He joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. Once home, he was a Tool & Die Apprentice at Whirlpool working his way up to Tool & Die Maker. Eventually, he became the Tool & Die Room Foreman until his retirement from Whirlpool. He made many trips with his wife to their favorite place, Myrtle Beach, SC. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, his family, and driving his 1964 Impala Super Sport.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte “Chatsy” Huffine; son, Dan (Debbie Jones) Huffine, of Hazel, KY; daughter, Terri (David) Haggard of Evansville; granddaughters, Michele (Ward) Keyer of Evansville and Adrianne (Dustin) Rogers of Murray, KY; grandson, D.J. Huffine of Murray, KY; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Emma, and Jacob Keyer and Peyton Rogers.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 3, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 704 North 1st Avenue, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street.
