He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. Lewis spent over 30 years in the car business. He worked for several dealerships in the Evansville area and earned many awards for Car Salesman of the Year. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He was an avid clock collector, loved fixing bicycles and building things.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bernadine Baker; daughters, Claudia Brantley, Kimberly Toombs (Terry), and Melody Gambetty; grandchildren, Stephanie Stolzy, Jacob Snider, Holly Snider, Dirk Toombs, Austin Toombs (Colin); and Ethan Toombs; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Todd Gile officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum where military rites will be conducted. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
