Lewis enjoyed gardening, flowers, and fishing. He was active with the Salvation Army where he attended church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Betty (Hale) Cook.
Lewis is survived by his children, Jeff Payne (Rosie), Julie Sorrels (Henry), Pastor Tony Payne (Mary), Kathy Jo Minton, Bruce Lothamer (Chris), Brad Tillman (Terri), Bobby Payne (Kathy), Jennifer (Cook) Schleter (Steve); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Cowan; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, July 20, 2012 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jack Feldbusch with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 10:30 until service time at the funeral home.
