

Linda Sue Alvey, 76, of Evansville, IN passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Riverpointe Health Campus. She was born in Evansville on November 21, 1948 to the late James R. and Olga (Kuzmaik) Dawson.
She graduated from Central High School. After more than a decade of dedicated service in Patient Services, Linda retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was formerly an active member of the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Linda dedicated her time volunteering at the Evansville Rescue Mission thrift store. She enjoyed RV camping and making crafts, especially jewelry, cross stitching, and soap making.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents James and Olga Dawson, and her beloved husband Joseph “Steve” Alvey. She first met Steve at the Community Center when she was 13, and they shared 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 2014.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Dobbs (Rick) and Tristie Reeves (Blair); grandchildren, Brice Saddler, Ashley Coomes (Kevin), Austin Diehl (Kimberley) and Katelyne Diehl; great-grandchildren, Lilly Saddler, Dallas Coomes, Paisley Coomes, Ryker Coomes, Henry Saddler and Haven Saddler; sisters, Carol Ruh and Diana Alvey (Gerald); along with many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN with Deacon Terry W. Milan officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
