Louis “Tom” Thomas Greenberg MD, 84, of Evansville, IN passed away on the 4th of July in Atlanta, GA and is now with his Lord Jesus Christ. He was born February 6th, 1936, to Theodore “Rosie” Greenberg and Evelyn Thomas Greenberg and was the only brother to his loving sister Diane Greenberg Martindale. Tom graduated from Reitz High School in 1954 and attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate degree. He went to medical school at Indiana University and then moved to California for his residency in internal medicine. In 1963 he returned home to practice family medicine in Evansville, IN. Later, in 1966 during the war in Vietnam, Tom was drafted into the Airforce. He had to give up his medical practice and move his young family to Tyndall Airforce Base in Panama City, Fl and once there, Tom became a captain and flight surgeon for his unit. Upon completion of his service, he moved his family to Atlanta, GA to attend and complete Emory University’s residency program in neuroradiology. In 1972, Tom was one of the early co-founders of Northwest Radiology which continues today as one of the most successful radiology practices in the Midwest. As a senior member of the practice, Tom spent most of his career practicing neuroradiology at what is now Ascension St. Vincent in Carmel, IN. Tom was also a talented musician and outstanding athlete. He was well known in the community for playing the trumpet in a jazz band and was recognized as one of the top high school musicians in Indiana. In sports, he won many athletic awards in basketball and as an overall athlete in Evansville. As an adult, Tom excelled at and was passionate about tennis and golf. Tom believed his family was the greatest accomplishment of his life. He was most proud of being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean Day Greenberg and his four children: Cindy McDonough, Kris Hutchinson, Scott Greenberg, and Marti Roncetti Greenberg. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: John McDonough, Blake Greenberg, Brynn McDonough, Viola Hutchinson, Thomas Roncetti and Noah Roncetti. Services and burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 31st at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720.
