

She was a lifetime member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, going to the race track and casinos, and working in her yard. She also liked baking, knitting, crocheting, reading her Bible and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Waddy, Sr.; daughter, Sharon Waddy; son, James “Leemon” Waddy; three grandsons; one great-grandson; and brother, Isreal Jones.
She is survived by daughters, Sarah Stewart of Evansville, Emma Norman of Columbia, SC, and Grace Waddy of Rochester, NY; sons, Arthur Waddy of Chicago, IL, Clifford Waddy of Washington, DC, Gregory Waddy and Anthony Waddy, both of Evansville; 33 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Jones of Columbus, OH and Elmus Collins of East St. Louis, IL., and sisters-in-law, Josephine Dismuke of St. Louis, MO and Vivian Jones of Evansville.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carver Day Care, Dr. Daniel Nalin, and Deaconess Hospital for their care and kindness.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 28, 2011, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 617 Bellemeade Avenue, officiated by Sister Jane Nesmith with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the church.
