Marie W. Hale, 92, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Evansville Protestant Home. She was born December 7, 1920, in Madisonville, KY to the late Bedford and Pearl M. (Fridy) Oakley.
She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and Eastern Star. She co-owned, with her husband, Newman Feed Store for ten years and Hale Auto Parts for 29 years, retiring in 1984. She was the epitome of a mother and loved her family.
Marie was preceded in death by her son, Rick Hale.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, James of Evansville; sons, Lindsey (Carolyn) Hale of Robards, KY and Greg (Dana) Hale of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jim, Chad and Christopher Hale, Katie Fritz and Kara Szot; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Hale and Charlie and Louie Fritz.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 28, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joe Schulte, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Washington Middle School PTA.
