She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed donating afghans that she crocheted to residents in nursing homes. She loved playing with her grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hardy, in November 2000.
She is survived by her sons, Tony (Vicky) of Evansville, Steve (Brenda) of South Carolina and Jim (Barbara) Hardy of Evansville; daughters, Rita Hardy and Melanie (Frank) Kelley, both of Evansville; grandchildren, Sharleen, Tony, Jr., Doyle, Alex, Brian, Robbie, Curtis, Travis, LeAnna, Heather and Alexis; great-grandchildren, too numerous to count, but she had fond memories of Nick; and sister, Betty Sue Gidcumb.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
