Martha "Lou" Carney

She was a member of West Side Christian Church where she was a Deaconess. She was a past officer of the T.O.P.S. Group. Martha was an avid Reitz football fan and also loved playing bingo, bunco, and card games. She had a wonderful sense of humor and had a smile for everyone that she met. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Martha was a blessing to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carney and parents, Arthur & Hazel Hofmann; brother, Arthur Hofmann; sisters, Pauline Rodriguez, Beverly Napier, and Mary Mattingly.

Martha is survived by her son, Dean (Robin) Carney, Evansville; grandsons, Ryan Carney (Kara), Matthew Carney (Ronnie); brother, Charles “Sonny” Hofmann (Anna), Evansville; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Mary Mitchell (Harry), Evansville; and her loving best friend, Mary Mills, Evansville.

Services will be 11:00AM, Monday, July 2, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. Gary Brunson with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit, Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral Home.
