

Evelyn Ary, 94, of Evansville, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at West River Health Campus. She was born June 14, 1920, in Dawson Springs, KY, to the late Calvin Clay and Hinda Marie (Fields) Dixon, Sr.
She worked in sales at Sears, JC Penney, Finke’s Furniture, and Kittle’s Furniture. She received several top sales awards prior to her retirement at the age of 75. She enjoyed family activities, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and friends from work, horse races, crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble. She was given a license plate for her car. It read “Swinging Grandma,” and that’s who she was; she always had a zest for life.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, Deforest Ary; grandson in 1987, Ronald Lee Ary; sisters, Lois Buchanan Almeida and Eunice Briscoe Brooke; and brothers, James, William, and Marvin Dixon.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Judy) Ary, Janis (Bob) Bottomley, and Don (Debbie) Ary; grandchildren, Richard (Sandy) Ary, Mark (Bobbi Jo) Bottomley, Tricia (Vic) Ary Barr, Clint Ary, David (Heather) Bottomley, and Steve Ary; great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Nathan) Brame, Tiffany Ary Tejeda, Richie Ary, Colton (Morgan) Bottomley, Sophia Bottomley, Matthew Barr, Serena Ary, Trevor Ary, Tristan Ary, Hunter Bottomley, and Grayson Bottomley; great-great-grandchildren, Harleigh Henderson, Owen Henderson, Kayce Tejeda, and Isabella Klaire Bottomley; and brother, Calvin Clay Dixon, Jr.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Pyle, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
