Mary E Casper

Mary E. Casper passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Evansville, IN. She was born in Tell City, IN on June 10, 1950 to the late Alfred J. and Etta B. (Gabbert) Casper. She was a 1968 graduate of North High School. Mary was a teacher in Evansville for 34 years, at Cedar Hall for 30 years and Stockwell for 4 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church; NEA; ISTA; ERTA and Delta Kappa Gamma. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cross-stitching and gardening. She fought a 15 ½ year battle with cancer with determination, positivity and grace. She is survived by her sisters, Cathy S. Casper and Barbara A. Reisner; niece, Kristen Carlson (Aaron); nephew, Brook Reisner (June); great nieces and nephews, Hunter Carlson, Ava Carlson and Ethan Carlson Alex Reisner and Kiley Reisner; several cousins. The family would like to thank oncologist Dr. Anthony Stephens and especially Dr. E. Steed Jackson for his guidance and extraordinarily compassionate care of Mary for many years. A private family service will be held, officiated by Pastor Aaron Carlson, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery.
