She graduated from Bosse High School and Lockyear Business College. She was employed at Sigeco for 40 plus years. Melba was a lifelong member of Olivet Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Board of Deacons and taught Sunday school. She had many caring friends from Olivet. She had a deep devotion to her parents and sister, “Dody.”
Melba was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford Hunter; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Barrett Sanders; and aunt and uncle, Herbert and Grace Mayes.
She is survived by her niece, Carol Parmenter; and great-niece, Michelle Parmenter Grossman.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dave Mills, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
