Michele Darice Russell, 59, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at her home. She was born on January 25, 1961, in Evansville, Indiana. From the moment Michele and her husband, Broc first met, they were inseparable for 42 years. Michele was a very caring and giving person and always had a wonderful smile. She never met a stranger and was loved by many. She dearly loved her grandkids and was known by them as “Meme.” Michele loved her fur babies, Debo and Chino. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; father, William Gilbert; and brother, Ramon Gilbert. Michele is survived by her husband of 42 years, Broc G. Russell; daughters, Keesha McAlpine and Kassandra Daniels (Jake); grandchildren, Giovanna McAlpine, Hubert McAlpine III, and Makayla Davison; mother, Vera Gilbert; siblings, Frauncelle Gilbert, Jolita Fields (Eric), William Gilbert (Renota), Martina Roy (David), Patrecea Hendrix, Peter Gilbert, Vera Gilbert, Charles Gilbert, and Bruce Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Private Celebration of Life will be held, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel. Memorial contributions may be made to NAMI Evansville-National Awareness Mental Illness.
