

Pamela Jean Newcomb, 79, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Linda E. White Hospice House. Pam was born on January 15, 1946, in Tulsa, OK to the late Don V. Tate and Frances Rhea Tate.
Pam graduated from Carmi Township High School in Carmi, Illinois and attended Lockyear College in Evansville. Her husband’s career took their family to Indianapolis and Florida before returning to Evansville to be close to family. Pam’s joy of life will be greatly missed. Before her illness, she enjoyed her grandchildren, many close friends and neighbors, dining out, dancing, and gardening. She was an animal lover and her pets through the years enjoyed abundant love and care.
She was preceded by her husband, James B. Newcomb; sister, Julia Galvez; and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Newcomb.
Surviving Pam are her significant other and best friend, Bill Endicott of Evansville; beloved canine companion, Katie; daughter, Shannon Orvarr (husband, Lynn) and grandchildren, Eli and Chloe of Indianapolis; son, Brian Newcomb and grandchildren, Benin and Sheridan of Indianapolis; brothers, Don Tate, Jr. of Santa Fe, TX and Robert Tate and his husband, Chris Ludlam of Asheville, NC; brother-in-law, Carlos Galvez of Tulsa, OK; niece, Michelle Dan of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; nephew, Carlos Galvez, Jr. and wife, Beth of San Diego, CA; niece, Elena Essick and husband, Bart of St. Louis, MO; and nephew, Tony Galvez and wife, Emily of Jenks, OK.
The family would like to thank the Linda E. White Hospice House for their fine care and making Pam as comfortable as possible during her transition.
A memorial gathering will take place in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
