

Peggie graduated from Central High School, and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church for more than 25 years. She liked crocheting; her flower gardens; playing cards and games. She loved to bowl, dance, sing, and listen to Boots Randolph with his “Yakkety Sax”. Peggie used to drive the warm-up cars for the Powder Puff Derbies. She also loved teaching her grandkids and great-grandkids about the Bible and working at the church. That was her life.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred G. Chumley and Robert Lee Lefler, Sr.; parents Harry & Thelma Brandt; daughter, Lydia Sue Chumley; and sister, Betty Smith.
Peggie is survived by her children, Gina Chumley, Shelly Chumley, Gary Chumley, Tammy Jones, Stan Chumley; sister, Joellyn Ewin; brothers, Terry Brandt, Kenneth Taylor; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Brother Jack Feldbush, with burial at the cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Alexander West Chapel.
