He was a great father, brother and husband. He loved his family and especially his dog Lucy. He worked as a type setter at the Courier & Press and was an iron worker for 12 years with the Local 103. He also worked at Brake Supply for 19 years. Phillip enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and spending time outdoors. He had a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, April.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Morton; son, Timothy Morton; sister, Phyllis Simmons (Bill); nieces, Stephanie Willis, Theresa Cranford; nephews, Jeff Cranford and Samuel Cranford.
Services will be 7:00PM, Friday, November 16, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit from 5:00PM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
