Richard E. Smith

Richard retired in 1991 from SIGECO with 31 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Constellation Scottish Rite, Hadi Temple and Hospital Staff for Hadi Temple accomplishing 175 trips to the Shrine Hospitals. He enjoyed boating on the Ohio River and traveling.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Diana “Dee” Whitney (Frederick Maser); grandson, Michael D. (Megan) Fritchley II; great grandchildren, Sidney (Dorothy) Fritchley, Joseph (Paige) Fritchley, Austin (Maci) Fritchley, Madison Fritchley and Charlee Fritchley; and one great great granddaughter, Emelia Fritchley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; including all of his siblings from a family of thirteen; wives, Jearldine (Duncan) Smith and Shirley (Day) Smith.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 starting at 5:00 pm at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN with a Funeral Service and Masonic Services starting at 6:30 p.m. Final resting place next to his wife Jearldine, will be private at Alexander Memorial Park.
