

He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked at the EVSC as a mechanic for 31 years. He was a member of Chandler Nazarene Church and attended Cross Pointe Trinity Church. He was an avid camper and enjoyed trips to Florida.
Robert is survived by his wife, Frances Gates Deason of Evansville; son, Ron Deason (Angie) of Newburgh; daughter, Pam Oglesby (Brad) of Henderson, KY; step-sons, Rev. Paul Gates (Shirley) of Boonville and Brian Gates (Cheryl) of Mt. Vernon, IL; step-daughter, Jenise King of Evansville; grandchildren, Scott Deason, Jake Hales, Lindsay and Chris Johnson and Joe and Lyndsey Sutton; step-grandchildren, Heather McClanahan and Tommy, Rhonda Gates and Dee Dee, Jonathan King and Sam, Jordan King and Jasemine, Candace and Rebecca Oglesby; step-great-grandchildren, Avery Sutton, Skylar, Isaiah and Jeshua McClanahan and Brady McClure; brother, Ray W. Deason (Lucille) of Evansville; sister, Betty L. Pruett of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Duane Allison and Rev. Everett Freels, with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
