Robert loved traveling, fishing, and being with his friends and family; seldom missed a F.J. Reitz High School football game. He cherished his Bethel Church family and loved the Lord. Robert attended F.J. Reitz High School and graduated from Mechanic Arts School in Evansville, IN. He was a F. J. Reitz High School Big Blue Booster Club member and Evansville Westside Kiwanis Club member. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and played trombone in the Army Band. He worked at Apex Tool as a tool and die maker. Robert was owner of Rose Cleaners, Unique Cleaners, as well as, Purofirst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lula Geier; step-mother, Carrie Geier; sisters, Eileen Connor (Bill), Dorothy Mae and Sissy; brother, Eddie (Norma); niece Carolyn; and nephew, Mark.
Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marlene Geier; daughters, Cheryl Simmons (Steve), Karen Shelley (Kevin); niece, Sandy Allinder (Gary); grandchildren, Josh Simmons, Katherine Tuttle (Matthew), Anthony Shelley; step-children, Tony Scott (Judy), Steve Scott (Mary), Pam Harper, Tim Scott (Chris), Kelly Crump (Chris), and Jay Scott (Sarah).
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dave Schwambach with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
