Robert Earl Schneider

Robert Earl Schneider, 89, of Evansville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born March 7, 1928, in Evansville, IN to the late Earl J. and Genevieve V. (Young) Schneider.

Robert attended Kasson Grade School and graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1945 with a scholarship to Evansville College. During college, he worked at Standard Oil Company at their terminal and Division Street office. After completing college, he joined Whirlpool’s accounting team, then later their sales department. In 1989, after 37 years of service, Robert retired from Whirlpool. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Ruth (Horn), whom he married on November 25, 1967, and together they moved into their home. He was involved at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ German Township and served as a Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marilyn Ruth; caregivers, Gil and Linda Barchet; goddaughters, Jennifer Barchet (Brad Gant) and Megan Huck (Ryan), all of Evansville; and many dear cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Terry Farmer and Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
