

Roger Dale Hunter, 74, of Evansville, IN passed away at Deaconess Midtown Hospital Saturday, June 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Evansville, IN on January 12, 1950 to the late Wilburn Hunter and Catherine (Busby) Hunter.
Roger graduated from Reitz High School in 1968. He retired from Windsor Plastics after 37 years, where he met many long-time friends. He liked old cars and trucks, especially Chevy’s, and was a devoted Cubs fan. Roger liked visiting with good neighbors, including Bobby, Michelle and Jeff, Todd, Kristy, Dalyn, Tory and Cameron and little girl Eartha who always made him smile. Roger loved going shooting with his friends when possible. Roger’s family and friends were extremely important to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Catherine Hunter; and his brothers, W. Jack Hunter, and Gene “Rooster” Hunter.
Roger is survived by his wife of 24 years, Yvette Hunter; daughters, Amanda Wells (Andy), and Brittany Lester (John); son, Brent Hunter; grandchildren, Madison Wells, Seth Wells, Liberty Lester, and John Lester; great-grandchild, Reed Barker; brother, Donald Hunter (Alice); nephew, Kenny Kebortz; and best friend, “Little Buddy” Dennis McGillem.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin. Roger's service will be livestreamed beginning at 12:50 pm at https://www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA
Family and Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
