

She was one of nine children and graduated from Bosse High School in 1940. She married Elwood Travers in December of 1941. They had one son, Duane Travers.
Rosalie worked at Servel during the war making airplane wings for the war effort. She was recognized by the State of Indiana as “Rosie the Riveter.” After the war she went to work for Harmon Optometrist on Third Avenue. She retired after 40 years in 1988.
She was a member of Oak Hill Evangelical Church in Evansville. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Auxiliary, Ostomy Associates, and certified Ostomy visitor. Rosalie was an avid follower of the University of Evansville Basketball.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Danny; sisters, Edith Kuehn, Jo Bates and Delores Schneider.
She is survived by her son, Duane Travers and his wife, Doris (Hettenbach); grandchildren, Dean and Kendra (Travers) Olin; great-grandchildren, Zackery, Wesley and Katie Olin; brother, Roy Brown; and sisters, Gerry Rathgeber and Darlene Baumgart.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010, at Garrison Chapel in Heilman, IN. Friends may visit Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue.
