She was a member of Zion UCC-Lippe. Ruby retired from Schnuck’s in 1993 and was a 1947 graduate of Reitz High.
Ruby had a sweet and loving personality, but was a resilient lady able to endure health issues with grace and equanimity. Her toughness was admired by all. Mama, you will be missed.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Garrett in 1968.
She is survived by her children, Judy Rueger (Dennis), Becky Garrett, David (Cindy), Rev. Debbie Dughaish (Ghassan) and Cindy Murphy (Danny); grandchildren, Shaun and Kasie Murphy, Jessica Roos, Lana Dughaish, Derek, Rachel, and Jordan Garrett, and Jenna Rueger; great grandchildren, Raistlin and Riley.
Ruby’s family extends a special thank you to the staff of Bethel Manor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Zion UCC-Lippe, 9000 Copperline Road, Mt. Vernon, IN, followed by burial in the church cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
