

She attended Business College prior to World War II, and became a secretary before meeting the love of her life, Harvey. They married in 1949.
Ruth and Harvey moved quite often with his job at the Corps of Engineers, but always called Tennessee home.
They had two children, Sue Asay (Evans) and Michael Denny. Ruth and Harvey were long time members of First Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee, when they lived there, but were also long time members of Washington Avenue Baptist Church after moving to Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; two sisters, Nell and Doris, and two brothers, Howard and Wallace. She is survived by the following family members: daughter, Sue and husband, Don Asay; son, Michael and wife, Elizabeth; two grandsons, D.G. and Evan Asay with their wives, Kelley and Sarah; two granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Evans; and two great-grandchildren, Brodie and Chase Asay.
She passed surrounded by her Parkview Care Center family and her friend and roommate, Shelby Daniels.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by friend, Paul Baumberger, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday, from 10:00AM to service time at the funeral home.
