Eric Sean Adams, son of the late O. Douglas Adams and Shirley J. Adams, died peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Serenity Spring Health Center in Jasper. Mr. Adams was 60 years of age. Along with his mother, Sean is survived by his two remarkable children, Jacob Adams (Mikela) and Ally Adams. His first grandchild will be born this May.
In his life, Sean was a wellspring of energy, a spark of optimism, with a zest for life. Possessing a wide smile and an infectious laugh, Sean seemed to find the random nuances in life, then randomly weave them throughout conversation. One was never bored with Sean in the room. A man of numerous natural talents, Sean excelled in wit, knowledge of music, logistical organization, and as a tremendous musical drummer. In his youth, Sean sought a career as a musician, playing for the locally well-known band Glass Hallow, Evansville. As the foundation for the band’s success, Sean’s drum skills were well known in the area, especially throughout southern Illinois where they won the local Battle of the Bands contest. Sean and his band had a serious brush with fame when they were invited to visit Nashville to play for famed record producer, Clive Davis. Sean was most at home behind a set of drums. Yet as many musicians experience, Sean had his share of setbacks, yet regardless of his own personal situation, Sean never seemed to pour his issues onto others. He wanted people to smile, to laugh, as he never wavered from his tremendous reservoir of optimism. At times, his optimism was made at his own expense, forever telling friends and family, that he was fine. It was his hallmark trait, never wanting to disappoint or bring others down and thus keeping so many internal struggles private.
The family he cherished will miss Sean’s laughter and smile, his energy, and sensitive personality. In addition to his father, Sean was preceded in death by his older brother, Scott Adams, a baby sister he never knew, Lisa Beth Adams, and his son, Alec Douglas. All losses that left a deep and lasting mark on Sean’s life. As a family, we are grateful for Sean to be at peace and once more reunited with his father, brother, sister and son. Rest assured, Sean is smiling, laughing, and telling one of his many jokes to all of them.
A graduate of Southern Indiana University, Sean was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity where he was named Outstanding Pledge of the Year. Possessing a Bachelors in Business, Sean’s professional career spanned a world of logistics and organization within the distribution industry. As with his family, co-workers, and supervisors alike would tout Sean’s sincerity and genuine effort to succeed.
To celebrate the life of Sean Adams, you are invited to join family for visitation from 10:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery- Heritage Chapel located at 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville.
