

Sharon Scott, 62, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway. She was born September 5, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Douglas and Sharon (Duffy) Garrett.
Sharon was raised by her grandmother, the late Girlie Lee Garrett. Sharon was a graduate of Harrison High School. Later, Sharon was a graduate from IVY Tech Community College earning her LPN in Nursing.
In 1995, she married the love of her life, Kenny Scott. They were blessed to have two children, Candy and Tisha. They raised three of their grandchildren, Jayla, Astasha and Elijah, as their own. Sharon and Kenny were inseparable and enjoyed life with one another.
After Sharon graduated from nursing school, she worked as a nurse at Transcendent in Boonville, IN and Newburgh Healthcare in Newburgh, IN. Sharon loved working with geriatric patients.
Sharon enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, watching movies, and going out to eat with her husband. She was known for making her delicious chess pies, carrot cakes, and holiday cookies. Family and friends loved when she would bake these delicious goodies. She was a huge fan of Michael Jackson "The King of Pop".
Sharon was a member of Line Street Church of Christ where she was very active with her husband and loved taking her family to church.
Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Fairbanks Garrett.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Kenneth Scott; children, Candy Hoff of Tulsa, OK; Latisha Robinson of Henderson, KY; Jayla Scott of Evansville, IN; Astasha Scott of Henderson, KY, Elijah Scott of Newburgh, IN and Monica Moore; Stepmother, Gayle Garrett of Evansville, IN; and siblings, Valorie Garrett of Evansville, IN; Veron (Marisa) Garrett of Evansville, IN; Veronica (Mark) Smith of Evansville, IN; Carolyn Garrett of Philadelphia, PA; Anthony Clark of Evansville, IN; Jacquette Russell of Indianapolis, IN; Larenuia Newton of Griffin, GA; DeKarla Owens (Donny) of Newburgh, IN; and Derrick Garrett (Miesha) of Evansville, IN.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, two aunts, Oddie Mae Stewart and Betty Ann Rucker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
