Stephen Ray Brown, 57, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Woodlands Care Center, where he had lived for eleven years after surgery for throat cancer. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on October 26, 1964 to Darris Brown of Newburgh and Dr. Ray Brown of Evansville.
Stephen was a 1983 graduate of Harrison High School and was employed by
Deaconess Hospital in Environmental Services for a number of years. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Darris Brown and Dr. Raymond Brown; sister, Marcia Baumberger (Paul); step-mom, Katie Brown; step-sisters, Gretchen Fischer (Bryan) and Katrina Barber; aunt, Barbara Gray (Dean); nieces, Hilary and Vera Fischer, Libby Baumberger, and Severina and Forsythia Barber.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jackson Van Dyke, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family requests masks to be worn at the visitation and service.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church.
