

Steve R. Meyers, 77, of Houston, TX, formerly of Evansville, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, at Grace Care Center North Pointe in Tomball, TX. The son of Carl and Helen Meyers, Steve was born on April 18, 1935, in Evansville.
He was a residential, light commercial and custom construction Specialist in the Evansville and Houston areas, and also spent time building custom RVs and boats. He was a lover of camping, the outdoors, spot shoots, and woodcarving. He was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #427, the National Wood Carvers Association, and also a lifelong Boy Scout of Troops 359, 957 and Pack 359.
Steve was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 55 years; sister, Dorothy Winternheimer of Carmel, IN; sons, Tim (Terri) of Jacksonville, FL, Bill (Karen) of Evansville and Chris (Stacey) of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Heidi, Susan, Sarah, Sydney, Catherine, Braden, Megan and Anderson; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 11, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by John Hanes. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
