Steven Lynn Burchett, 63, of Elberfeld, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Steve was born April 22, 1958 in Evansville, IN to the late Marvin Edgar Burchett and Anna Jewel (England) Burchett.
Steve was a PSO Officer for the US Department of Homeland Security for over 20 years.
He loved his family greatly, and especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Some of his favorite hobbies included family get-togethers, vacationing in the mountains, relaxing at home on the deck, swimming, gardening and canning, fishing and hunting, shooting, martial arts, ATV riding, Jeep (sheep) riding, horse-back riding, and restoring tractors. Steve loved animals, especially his dog, PK.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Brown; and brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson.
Steve is survived by his wife, Glenda Burchett; daughters, Jaclynn Pace (Jason), Jennifer Thomas (Brian); son, Jacob Burchett (Ashlyn Cowin); grandchildren, Kaden Thomas, Kelsey Thomas, Remi Pace, Kinley Thomas, Kiley Thomas, and Reed Pace; sisters, Doris Appell (Tom), Fay Johnson and Brenda Krug; brothers, Darrell Burchett (Teresa) and Dennis Burchett (Kathy); and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Bishop Johnie "Jr" Baldwin, with burial to follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
